Beneficiaries

Who will be your primary and back-up beneficiaries? You can have more than one. If more than one, they will divide the assets equally. This excludes any specific gifts you make.

Specific Gifts of Property

Will you leave specific gifs of real estate or personal property? If yes,
make a list of specific gifts. Include a description of the property and the full name of the beneficiary. You do not have to do this if you want everything to go to your primary beneficiary.

Guardianship

Who will care for your minor children? Identify a primary and back-up. It can be more than one. Make sure you have the conversation with them before including them in your plan documents.

Executor / Personal Representative

Who will handle the affairs of the estate? Name a primary and back-up to handle the businsess of your estate.

Financial Power of Attorney

Who do you trust to handle financial matters if you're unable to, for any reason? You'll only need to name one person.

Health Care Power of Attorney

Who will be your health care agent? Name a primary and back-up health care agent to ensure your health care desires are carried out if you are unable to do so due to illness or incapacity.

Too many people fail to create a plan for their family

With over 13 years of experience in the legal field, I’ve helped hundreds of clients, family members and friends create life and estate plans and navigate the estate probate process (administration of an estate). It was immediately apparent that most people fail to create a life and estate plan, leaving loved ones to figure it out in times of stress and grief. Most people fail to create a life and estate plan because they don’t believe they need one (I don’t own a lot), don’t know how to get started, and don’t know it is affordable. The truth is, how much you own is not the primary reason to create a plan. The reason to create a plan is to protect your family. Leave instructions and ensure there is a controlled transfer of your asses to the people you want to have them. This will save your loved ones from additional stress and confusion.

We developed Simplified Wills to make the process of creating your family's plan simple and fast. We made these essential legal documents accessible and affordable for you to protect your family.
